May 1 Productivity Day and Banana Development Experience Exchange
The exchange of experiences in banana and vegetable cultivation was held on the occasion of the 1st May Productivity Day in Maruwwa Hadaree Village, Gooxii Hadaree, Jiillee Dhummuuga District.
The event was held with the support of the HortiLife Program on a leading farmer’s land, in a banana and vegetable cultivation designed to serve as a Farm Field School.
Among the participants, district and village leaders, agricultural experts and farmers exchanged experiences on banana cultivation, use of improved agricultural technologies and methods to increase productivity.
The program has contributed significantly to ensure that farmers understand practical opportunities and approaches to achieve better economic returns from smaller landholdings, increase productivity and expand their sources of income.
Expanding the best practices to other villages, strengthening banana and fruit cluster development, and strengthening technical support and continuous monitoring will be the future directions.
