Jile Tamuga District Women, Children, Youth and Social Affairs Office, in cooperation with 3R-4-CACEP Component 2, has completed the procurement of 800 breeding goats for women who have been injured in various rural kebeles and organized by village savings groups.
It has been observed that the project has already been providing capacity building training to 100 women in the field of goat and sheep breeding at Ataye Polytechnic College in order to put the trainees into practice in the field of their training and to ensure their economic benefit.
In this, by involving veterinary experts, Kebele chairmen and stakeholders from the District Finance Office, Animal and Fisheries Development Office, Public Complaints Office, Women, Youth and Social Affairs Office, Ataye Polytechnic College, he completed the procurement process in a transparent manner and handed it over to the users.
Accordingly;-
➢ 163 goats of Biftu Women's Village Savings Group in Dana Kebele in Goro Dre.
➢ The Nebro Women's Village Savings Group in Goda Kebele has 159 goats
➢ 153 goats of Abdi Boru Women's Village Savings Group in Dula Kebele.
➢ 154 goats from Gudetu Women's Village Savings Group in Yatu Merer Kebele, as well as
➢ Salam Women's Village Savings Group in Were Lencha Kebele received 171 goats.
A total of 800 goats were purchased with 95,000 Birr allocated to each woman and officially handed over to the beneficiaries.
Mrs. Fatuma Syed, Head of Women, Children, Youth and Social Affairs Office of Jile Tamuga district, attended the presentation and stated that in the past few years, they have done many effective works to enable women to be economically independent.
She added that this year's purchase and delivery of goats in collaboration with the 3R-4-CACEP Component 2 project lays a great foundation for women to come out of poverty and change their lives and their families' lives effectively.
3R-4-CACE project coordinator Mr. Syed Ali said that the purchase of goats was completed in cooperation with the stakeholders in a manner that was completely transparent and focused on the needs of the women.
He further said that in order to ensure that the effectiveness of the project's support is sustainable and that users bring about the expected economic change from the breeding, strong support and monitoring activities will be carried out in coordination with experts.
Finally, it is known that the 3R-CACE Component 2 project has spent a total of 9 million 500,000 thousand birr so that women can engage in income-generating activities and improve their livelihoods.
